Faith and Public Policy: Truce on Social Issues?

As a Christian, I believe that every part of my life, or anyone’s life, is of value to God and important to Him.

So, how do we react when future Republican candidates for President say that they will not focus on social issues as they run for the chance to face off with President Obama in 2012? The easy answer is to take their words with a grain of salt.

Right now, the issues on everyone’s mind are economic. That is fair. But when it comes to nominating a Republican, each potential nominee will have to be put through the social issues gauntlet. They simply cannot get elected if they do not show that they align on those core issues with the base of Republican voters.
